Weather Display - version shown on the main page 'screen shot'
This is a 'commercial' but relatively cheap program with a terrific support group and, as often as not, advice, encouragement and 'fixes' from the author (windy, aka Brian in Northland, N.Z.). The Weather Watch web site, which includes a forum dealing with Weather Display and other offerings, is maintained by Chris (Blackpool, UK).
The site can be found here.

Once again this is a cheap 'commercial' program. It is designed to hang off the aforementioned Weather Display. Information can be displayed in various ways. I have opted for the gauge type displays - at least for those data where such a choice is available. You will find this under "Basic readings - updated each thirty seconds or so." on the main page of this web site.
Hardware:
I am using a La Crosse WS3600-11 system, the only modification being a larger collection area for the rain gauge. This modification allows the recording of rainfall to a resolution of 0.1mm instead of the original 0.5mm - both approximates for the purpose of this descriptive.
The thermometer and the hygrometer are mounted in a clear air area where the sun never shines. The anemometer cum direction indicator is mounted 12 metres above ground level which, given the slope of the land, would be about 10 metres agl average. Due to the abundance of tall trees surrounding the site and that the weather station is situated on the western side of a ridge all wind readings should be considered to be suspect when compared with a similar station situated in an open and flat area.
